1. First Step

Upon first noticing data loss, please do the following:

• DO NOT try attempt data Recovery on your own unless you have extensive knowledge and experience. Doing so could cause your data to be irretrievable and/or worsen the condition of your media.
• Consult our data recovery experts and allow us perform a free evaluation on your media. After the initial evaluation we will provide you a cost-effective and viable solution.
• No appointments needed- simply bring or ship your media to our shop at 225 N. Barranca Street Suite #125, West Covina, CA 91791 during our normal business hours.

2. Evaluation of Your Media

The time required for evaluation depends on the physical condition of the media. Normally it takes anywhere between 1 to 3 business days for laptops and PCs and up to 5 business days for a Mac. When the evaluation is complete, we will contact you with a quoted price and data retrieval plan. Since every data recovery case is different, there are no set strategies for every data retrieval case.

3. Getting Data Recovery Process Updates

Data Recovery status can be checked online at any time, every step of the way. You can check on your data recovery progress and our engineers' notes by visiting our status page at www.datarecovery-company.com/DataRecoverystatus.aspx. Simply type in your data recovery work order number and your customer ID.

4. Returning Your Data

Your data can be returned in a number of ways:

• In most cases we return your data on CD(s) or DVD(s) depending on the size of the data.
• We also offer the option of transferring the recovered data onto a new hard drive. If the hard drive is not from Konicom, please make sure that the hard drive is in good working condition. Konicom is not responsible for any data loss on the new hard drive after it leaves our premises.
• If you require immediate access your recovered data, or if you are unable to pick up the data in person, recovered files can be downloaded via the Internet through our secure FTP channel. Please notify our staff if you need this service.

5. Future Data Loss Prevention
